I struggled alot with this assignment. Mainly because I was using photoshop 4, not 5. In the end I had to make the HDR photo 32 bit, then convert it to 8 bits. It didn't work when I just created a 8 bits HDR photo. This is why some of the exposure is a little weird, but I'm glad I figured it out!
I was originally thinking for this project I would document smoking. Anyone I see smoking, friends, people on the street. This is proving to be a lot more difficult than I thought.I'm really struggling with the idea of "documentation". It's hard to make something not feel very posed or impose my own perspective too much. Here are a few of the pictures I have so far.
Grass in the city - October 25, 2011- One picture layered over another in order to change the background
Strap - October 25, 2011 - The strap used to be hunter green
A Path - October 25, 2011 - Leaf used to be orange and background used to be grey. Upped the saturation of background and lowered the saturation of the leaf
These photos are two of the few photos I have left after my last computer crashed. I was lucky enough to have saved some of my favorites. My cousins and I went to the lakefront one day last summer, and both of them were so engaged in exploring the new terrain. Instead of interfering I tried to capture this vaguely familiar feeling. Reminding myself to never loose my childish curiosity.
